    Gazpromneft-Aero increased jet fuel retail sales in 1q 2017 by 3%

    16 May 2017 - Gazpromneft-Aero, the jet fuel business operator of Gazprom Neft, has reported its 1Q 2017 results, confirming its position as the leader on the Russian jet fuel market by retail sales volume. The Company’s ‘into the wing’ refueling volumes amounted to more than 460 thousand tons, which is 3% more than in the same period in 2016. The Company’s total jet fuel sales exceeded 700 thousand tons in 1Q 2017.

    On the domestic market, Gazpromneft-Aero has the largest distribution network made up of 46 petrol stations in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The Company’s customers include over 150 Russian and international airlines.

    In 1Q 2017 Gazpromneft-Aero refueled aircraft outside of Russia for a total of over 50 thousand tons, which exceeded the target not only for the quarter but also for the previous year by three times. Its network of airports has expanded from 178 to 182 airports in more than 60 countries. The company started fueling aircraft for the first time in the international airports of Sharjah (UAE), Surat Thani (Thailand), Changsha (China), Cayo Coco (Cuba) by developing partnerships with leading jet fuel suppliers in local markets.

    Vladimir Egorov, General Director of Gazpromneft-Aero, said: “Since the beginning of 2017, we have witnessed a slow recovery in the Russian air transportation market. In 1Q 2017 passenger traffic increased by 19% and the volume of retail consumption of jet fuel in Russian airports increased by 4%, according to Federal Air Transport Agency data. In 1Q 2017 Gazpromneft-Aero invested more than RUB 400 million into upgrading the fueling facilities and installing the automated refueling process control system. In the long term we want to remain a leader in the retail market by actively implementing international standards of aircraft fueling and improving our business processes.”
